Exercise Your Kids’ Brains This Summer

School’s almost out but that doesn’t mean kids should stop learning. In fact, this is the perfect time for parents to help them avoid the dreaded Summer Slide—the loss of knowledge over summer break. Students, on average, lose up to 30% of their school-year learning over the summer. Fortunately, this doesn’t have to happen!

Tynker keeps young minds sharp by providing fun interactive coding lessons focused on their individual interests. It’s easy to get started and kids (ages 5-18) can play and learn all on their own, fine-tuning their cognitive abilities with a broad range of courses and activities designed to increase their ability to problem-solve and think critically.

These skills will benefit them tremendously, giving them a head start in their classes when they return to school in the fall. This is especially true for math class, where students will be better equipped to analyze the different ways of solving a problem.

Tynker Makes Learning FUN

Whether they’re interested in game design, drones, art, robotics, music, or advanced coding languages like Python, kids of all ages and experience levels are having a blast with coding, making their screen time with Tynker not just productive but creative.

Plus, coding knowledge will practically hand kids future job opportunities in science, engineering, and tech, even design and animation… wherever their dreams take them. In the meantime, we also have Minecraft, so kids can create cool mods, add-ons, texture packs, and more!

Kids Need A Routine

Getting kids in a consistent routine this summer is also important, especially since they’ve been away from a structured school environment for months. Also, physical exercise should be part of the plan every day, as should a little quiet time, especially with a good book. As parents, we want to make sure our kids are happy, healthy, and motivated to learn.

Kids Can Learn A New Skill

For kids, this is the best time to begin coding. Like a foreign language, code is best learned early. Once kids are fluent in the type of thinking required to break down and solve coding problems, the transition to other more advanced coding languages is relatively straightforward.

With Tynker, you get 40+ programming courses including AR and Python, not to mention 3,700+ coding activities with daily coding missions.

In addition, our amazing Tynker Summer Code Jam is back on with weekly coding challenges and $10,000 in prizes—not to mention bragging rights!

What Does The Future Hold?

Going forward, online/remote learning will become part of the new norm. However, what kids have been creating with Tynker is anything but normal. Basically, it’s downright inspiring. All in a self-paced, interest-based format. At home or on-the-go. Whatever your summer plans.

Tynker’s SUMMER PROGRAM

Tynker is where creativity abounds. The computational thinking that’s involved with coding teaches kids to tap into their organizational skills, which helps them think algorithmically and plan ahead, opening up limitless possibilities.

All of our tracks this summer are included with a single purchase plan. The program starts June 8th (more details coming soon). But you don’t have to wait! Purchase any of our current quarterly, annual, or lifetime plans and get access to all of Tynker, including our summer program.

Track 1: Art & Music

Track 2: Minecraft Modding (Bedrock)

Track 3: Game Design

Track 4: Minecraft Game Design (Java)

Track 5: Robotics & AR

Track 6: Advanced Coding

Each of Tynker’s tracks involves programming concepts, allowing kids to explore coding in a structured environment while giving them the chance to apply it to a project. Along the way, they’ll unlock characters, earn badges, and be able to show their projects to friends and family.

We encourage you to share our Tynker plans with your friends who may be searching for additional ways to stimulate their kids’ minds this summer.

Kids who code can beat the summer slide. Just half an hour of coding a day will go a long way!
