Sunday, February 14th is Valentine’s Day, the day when we try to show the people that mean most to us—how much we love them. One way to do that is by giving them a gift.
However, what can we get our kids that has any lasting meaning or effect? Chocolate is always welcome on Valentine’s Day. The more the merrier. And, candy, preferably in red, does the trick. Unfortunately, the chocolate and candy will soon disappear with little or nothing to show for it besides a toothache.
That’s why Tynker creates a Valentine’s Day project every year to inspire kids to code. Whether they’re already on the programming path or a newcomer, the gift of code teaches kids skills that they’ll enjoy and even benefit from for a lifetime.

How to Code This Project
All registered Tynker users have access to this project in their student dashboard. Simply click on the project card and follow the instructions to get started! If you don’t have an account, you can sign up for a FREE account here and access many fun coding puzzles, games, and tutorials.
Teachers— to assign this project to your students, please follow the instructions below:
- Set up a classroom in your Tynker account and add your students.
- Click on the “Lessons” tab in your classroom dashboard.
- The project will be available under “Weekly/Special” Projects – click the “Assign to Class” button.
After your class has finished, don’t forget to create a showcase of all your student projects to share with friends and parents!
